Dr. Kurt Bravata M.D. is a Family Physician at Citizens Memorial Healthcare, specializing in primary care, geriatrics, and addiction recovery. Dr. Bravata received his formal clinical training at Bronx Lebanon Hospital in Bronx, New York and relocated to Bolivar, MO in 2013. Dr. Bravata is the medical director of the Addiction Recovery Program at the Southside Behavioral Health Clinic in Bolivar, MO. Dr. Bravata is also the Medical Director of Colonial Springs Healthcare Facility in Buffalo, MO. His primary care practice is located at the Dallas County Family Medical Center.
Dr. Bravata developed an integrated medicated addiction treatment program for substance use disorders within the Citizens Memorial Healthcare system which utilizes the latest pharmaceutical interventions in combination with proven behavioral health therapies. The Addiction Recovery Program is housed within the Southside Behavioral Health Clinic in collaboration with behavioral health specialists.
Dr. Bravata is DATA 2000 waivered and board certified through the American Board of Family Medicine and the American Board of Addiction Medicine. He is a member of the Recovery Coalition of the Ozarks, the Missouri Coalition of Recovery Support Providers, AAFP, MAFP, ASAM, and the Dallas County Live-Well Alliance of which he is a founding member. He is a published author and lecturer on family practice issues and the topic of substance use disorders and is active contributor to the Missouri Academy of Family Physicians (MAFP) Family Physician magazine and the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) Fresh Perspectives Blog. Dr. Bravata also serves on the MAFP Board of Directors and does advocacy on Family Medicine and Addiction Recovery issues.
